Job Description

Under the supervision of the team leader, the assembler must have an eye for detail, quality and safety in order to perform machining and assembly tasks used in the manufacture of fused cutout.

Tasks

  • Perform the mechanical assembly as well as the installation of the components of the various products assembled at the Lachine plant by following the assembly drawings and schematic diagrams;
  • Perform simple machining of parts used in the manufacture of products;
  • Inspect the work performed and report any manufacturing and assembly defects to supervision or group leader;
  • Prepare, visually inspect and clean before spinning, testing and shipping;
  • When required, repair a defective part or have a design or assembly error;
  • Perform operations using electric / pneumatic / computer or manual tools;
  • Participate in the counting of ad hoc, periodic or annual inventories;
  • May be called upon to perform simple and specific wiring connection tasks;
  • May be called upon to perform any other work determined by his supervisor such as but not limited to: building maintenance and equipment (interior and exterior) etc;
  • Respect the various quality and health and safety procedures inherent in the function;

Skills and abilities needed

  • AEP, DEP – machining technique or any other related training and / or experience;
  • 1 years+ of professional experience;
  • Ability to work safely and follow instructions;
  • The ability to work in a team;
  • Flexible at work; versatility;
  • Able to work without constant supervision;
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical diagrams / plans;
  • Have good manual dexterity. Knowing how to use electrical and mechanical tools;
  • Ability to handle and hold loads in place according to health and safety rules;
  • Bilingual (French, English) will be an asset;
