Proven Reliability
This rugged design features show the highest reliability levels endorsed by extensive field use records. The V-Rupt parts are made of brass, silver-plated copper and tin-plated. The materials are chosen with particularly attention to galvanic corrosion.
- The fuse holder is made with fiber-glass filament wound tubing resistant to UV rays and harsh weather. It is interchangeable and easily traceable due to the specific identification on the stick;
- The fuse holder is equipped with expendable cap with rupture capacity of 8,275 kPa
(1,200lb/po2);
- The cable terminals are sized for cables with diameter between 5 and 21 mm;
- The insulator is especially made for the application following very strict specifications to ensure reliability and durability in a wide range of temperature and within harsh environment. Each insulator is identified for easy traceability;
- Reverse current loop contacts at both line and hinge ends increase contact pressure during high surges preventing pitting and burning;
- Positive lever operated latch prevents accidental opening;
- High quality cast bronze construction. Stainless steel utilized in selected pins and springs;
- Animal proofing;
- Silver-plated, spring-loaded copper contacts;
Linkbreak Attachment
Linkbreak is designed so that it will break element of fuse links rated from 1/3 through 100 A with a minimum of effort. Fuseholder extinguishes load current as if fuse element had melted due to an overload condition.

- Low initial cost compared to cutouts with integral loadbreak devices;
- No complicated interrupter device to possibly fail;
- Can be hookstick operated from ground with standard or extend stick. It is not necessary to climb the pole as it is for portable loadbreak tool in the event bucket truck is not available or location is such that it cannot be reached by bucket truck;
The V-Rupt Linkbreak cutout to be used only with Chance or Kearney fuse links. Will not break S&C and some other fuse brands.
